Our family of nurseries began with 137 Loughborough Road, Leicester, in 1990. It was opened in response to the lack of good quality nursery care in the Leicester area, and to promote the Montessori Method. High quality care is offered by all our facilities, by both NNEB and Montessori teachers.

The aim of the Nurseries is to provide the children with a happy and secure environment, full of rewarding and valuable learning experiences from the age of eighteen months upwards. Montessori equipment is used extensively, to help encourage a child's natural curiosity, self confidence and independence.

During this vital part of a child's life, the foundations for future learning are formed. At this early age, children are allowed to develop naturally at their own pace, the priority being to permit the development of secure, confident, happy characters, who will be well-placed to enjoy academic success when they are ready, and to the best of their ability. They will be introduced to our reading and writing scheme, as well as the Montessori Mathematics Programme. These components form part of a varied program of activity, which also includes the areas of Practical Life, Sensorial Education, and many other themed activities.

Each of our nursery schools offers a range of experiences to the children in a safe and reassuring environment. The children explore a wide variety of objects and activities that are designed to allow them to develop confidence and curiosity for themselves.

In summary, this special pre-school experience, which fosters the development of the whole child, provides an important preparation for the child's school life. Many of the 'young students' in Leicester go on from here to our Preparatory School, which is based on the London Road, a little further south of the city.
